A New Day
On April 27, 2011 a mile wide Tornado ripped through the South leaving a wake of destruction. Tuscaloosa was ground zero for the brunt of this storm. More than 340 lives were lost across the South, and many families lost their homes.
In response to this destruction, communities across Alabama reached out to their neighbors. Over 8,000 individuals volunteered with Samaritan’s Purse Disaster Relief. These hard-working teams logged an astounding 55,901 volunteer hours. Since April, Eleven homes have been totally rebuilt, and many more are under construction.
